Physical to Physical Migration (P2P)
Physical to Physical migration is the process of transitioning the
applications, data, and operating system from one physical server over
to another, usually during a data center consolidation.
Many organizations need to first consolidate their data centers
requiring software running on decommissioned servers to be
migrated to a new physical servers. This can be a costly
endeavor if on site migrations are designed into the solution.
However, bandwidth capabilities typically permit Physical to
Physical migrations which means they can be done remotely with
site visits minimized or even eliminated. |
